Rookies Share Athlete of the Week Honors

A pair of first year athletes led Keuka College sports this week as golfer Tyler Hoosier (Saratoga, N.Y./Saratoga) and women’s soccer star Nicole Sharick (Corfu, N.Y./Pembroke) were both named Keuka Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 26.
Hoosier led the Storm golfers to a fourth place finish at the Keuka College Invitational after shooting a seven-over par (79) to tie for second place overall out of 19 golfers. The medalist from Elmira College was just two strokes better with a 77. Hoosier has been the Storm’s top finisher in both of its matches so far this fall.
Sharick, a 5-8 forward on Keuka’s 3-4 squad, led the Storm to a 1-1 week. Sharick scored Keuka’s first two goals and assisted on the fourth goal in the Storm’s 5-0 win over Wells College. It was her third straight game with a goal and second straight game with the game-winning goal. She currently leads the team in all four major offensive categories; goals (4), assists (3), points (11), and game-winning goals (2).
