Vail finished with 14 saves in the loss.
The Keuka College women’s soccer team played the visiting Tigers of R.I.T. tough but eventually let in a header off a corner kick in the 69th minute of play to fall 1-0 on Saturday.
Keuka snaps its three game-winning streak and now sits at 3-4 overall while R.I.T. wins its second straight and improves to 2-3-3 on the season.
The Tigers out-shot Keuka 20-1 in the first half but thanks to 10 first half saves by junior keeper Ashley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili), the game remained scoreless at the break. R.I.T. ripped 16 more shots in the second half while holding Keuka to just four to finish with a 36-5 advantage for the game. Read more

Hoosier’s 79 Not Enough; Storm Take 4th at Own Invite

Freshman Tyler Hoosier finished second overall after shooting a 79.
Rookie golfer Tyler Hoosier (Saratoga, N.Y./Saratoga) did his best to help the Storm win the Keuka Invite, finishing tied for second overall, but the Storm placed fourth out of four teams on Thursday.
Keuka ended with a team score of 379 while Elmira College won the Invite with a score of 335. SUNY ESF (339) and Baptist Bible College (376) finished second and third, respectively. Read more

Sharick’s Five Points Lead Storm to Third Straight NEAC Win

Freshman Nicole Sharick had five points including the game's first two goals.
After starting the season 0-3, the Keuka women’s soccer team has now evened its record at 3-3 after its third straight North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win. Keuka knocked off the host Express of Wells College by a score of 5-0 on Wednesday. The Storm remain atop the NEAC standings at 3-0 while the Express fall to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Keuka out-shot Wells 17-4 and have now allowed only 10 shots in its three conference games. The Storm out-shot the Express 8-0 in the opening half while pouring in two goals. Both goals were scored by rookie Nicole Sharick (Corfu, N.Y./Pembroke) who has now scored in three straight games. Her first goal, her second straight game-winning goal, came unassisted in the 14th minute (13:47). The Keuka College men’s soccer team had its five-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to the Express of Wells College on the road Wednesday.
The loss drops Keuka to 4-2-1 overall while Wells improves to 2-6 on the season.
The two teams combined for just 20 shots in the game with Keuka holding a slight edge (11-9). The Express placed seven of its nine shots on goal while the Storm only had four of its 11 shots on goal.
