Storm Record 1-0 Shutout Against Wildcats

Junior Alyssa Hermenet scored the game-winner for Keuka.
The Keuka women’s soccer team dominated the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College by out-shooting them 46-0. The Storm would only be able to net one goal as they won by a score of 1-0.
The win, Keuka’s third straight, improves the Storm to 7-7 overall and 7-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Cazenovia drops to 3-13-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the conference.
The Storm out-shot Cazenovia 22-0 in the opening half and 24-0 in the second half. The Storm’s lone goal would come off the foot of junior Alyssa Hermenet (Williamson, N.Y./Williamson) in the 43rd minute (42:20). After a shot by a Keuka player was blocked by a Cazenovia defender, Herement booted in the rebound for her seventh goal of the season. The goal is also her fourth game-winning goal of the season and ninth of her career, a Keuka record. Read more
Men’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision to Cazenovia

Senior Tyler Shaw and the rest of Keuka's defense limited Cazenovia to just one goal.
The Keuka men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 game to the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College on Thursday.
The loss drops the Storm to to 7-6-1 overall while Cazenovia improves to 9-6-1.
The two teams were close in shots with the Wildcats holding a slight edge (18-16). Keuka dominated the corner kicks (6-2) and held the ball the majority of the second half. It wasn’t enough however, as an early goal by Cazenovia would be all the scoring. Read more

Soccer Games Postponed

The Keuka College men’s and women’s soccer games against Cazenovia College scheduled for today at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex have been postponed due to weather. The games will be made up tomorrow, October 29.
The game times have changed, with the women playing at 3:30 p.m. and the men right afterwards at 6 p.m.
Geers and Meskill Tabbed as Athletes of the Week

Keuka College selected junior volleyball player Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) and senior men’s soccer star Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson) as its Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 24.
Geers, the Storm’s (12-15) top setter, led Keuka to a 2-0 week against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe’s. In a 3-0 sweep of the College of St. Elizabeth, Geers led the Storm with 16 assists as the team posted an attack percentage of .363. In a 3-1 win over Penn State-Berks, she had 15 assists, three aces, and 12 digs. Geers, an All-NEAC third team selection last season, has a team-high 330 assists and is fifth on the team in digs with 114.
Meskill, the Storm’s (7-5-1) goalie, finished with 22 saves despite Keuka dropping both of its games. In a 3-2 loss to Nazareth College, Meskill weathered 30 shots while stopping 12. It was the only game all season that he has allowed more then a goal in a game. He followed that up with a 10-save performance in a 1-0 double overtime loss to SUNYIT. Meskill kept the Wildcats scoreless for the first 101 minutes. He has 76 saves on the season with a .884 save percentage.
Volleyball Sweeps NEAC Tri-Match

Senior Jessica Volz had three aces and 19 digs.
The Keuka volleyball team swept a very important home North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tri–match on Saturday. The Storm started by sweeping the College of St. Elizabeth by a score of 3-0 before knocking off the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Berks 3-1. Berks defeated St. Elizabeth 3-0 in the middle game.
Keuka improves to 12-15 overall while Berks now stands at 8-12 and St. Elizabeth slips to 6-16. Read more
Women’s Soccer Wins Defensive Battle

Senior Alyssa Gumtow's corner kick proved to be the game-winner.
The Keuka women’s soccer team won a very close game by a score of 1-0 against the host SUNYIT Wildcats on Saturday. In a game that saw only 15 shots total it was an own goal off a Keuka corner kick that gave the Storm the victory.
Keuka improves to 6-7 overall and 6-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). SUNYIT falls to 10-7-1 overall and 8-2 in the conference.
The Storm were limited to just six shots all game while Keuka’s defense halted the Wildcats offense to a tune of just nine shots. Neither team was able to score in the opening period. Read more
