Men’s Cross Country Takes 23rd at Geneseo Invite

The men’s cross country team took 23rd place out of 24 teams at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational held at Letchworth State Park this past weekend. Keuka finished with a team score of 691 while Geneseo won the race witha score of 23.
R.I.T. took second place with a score of 65 and were followed by Rochester (74), Fredonia St. (104), and the Geneseo Alumni (126).
Sophomore Scott Matheis (Barker, N.Y./Barker) was the Storm’s top finisher as he came in 207th place out of 283 runners. Matheis finished the 8K race in a time of 31:07. A little over a minute behind Matheis was junior Kraig Connor (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) in 228th place (32:10).
Junior Chris Mazella (Depew, N.Y./Depew) was Keuka’s third finisher in 250th place in a time of 33:40. Rookie Justin Hess (Clyde, N.Y./Clyde Savannah) and junior Josh Uline (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) rounded out Keuka’s top-five. Hess placed 259th (34:56) while Uline was 272nd (36:29).
Keuka will next run in the Nazareth College Invitational this Saturday, October 10.
