The Keuka volleyball team split its two matches at the Buffalo State tri-match on Saturday.  The Storm dropped its first match to the University of Rochester (14-10) by a score of 3-1.  Keuka then swept the host Bengals (12-11) by a 3-0 score.

Keuka now stands at 8-14 overall and have won seven of its last 11 matches.

Against the Yellowjackets of Rochester, Keuka dropped the first set 16-25 before taking the second set 25-23.  After dropping a close third set (22-25), the Storm were defeated 17-25 in the fourth.  The Storm received 20 of its 28 kills from senior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) and Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek).  McHale led with 12 kills while also leading with 24 digs.  Naegely had eight kills and nine digs.  Junior Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) dished out 13 assists and dug nine balls.

Against Buffalo State, the Storm won three very close sets (27-25, 25-21, & 25-23).  Geers led the offense with 23 assists while McHale topped the team with 10 kills.  Senior Jessica Volz (Dewitt, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) had a team-high 12 digs.

The Storm will next play host to Alfred University this Wednesday, October 14 beginning at 7 pm.
