Volleyball Sweeps NEAC Tri-Match

The Keuka volleyball team swept a very important home North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tri–match on Saturday. The Storm started by sweeping the College of St. Elizabeth by a score of 3-0 before knocking off the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Berks 3-1. Berks defeated St. Elizabeth 3-0 in the middle game.
Keuka improves to 12-15 overall while Berks now stands at 8-12 and St. Elizabeth slips to 6-16.
Against St. Elizabeth, Keuka won easily (25-13, 25-10, & 25-13). The Storm posted a .363 attack percentage while holding the Screaming Eagles to a -.127. Junior Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) led the offense with 16 assists as senior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) had a team-high eight kills. Junior Heather Fish (Newfield, N.Y./Newfield) added seven kills.
Versus Penn State-Berks, Keuka lost a close first set (26-28) before rebounding to take the next three (25-22, 25-22, & 25-18). Junior Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) led with 11 kills as McHale and junior Sarah Fredricks (Milton, Ontario/E.C. Drury) each had eight kills. Junior Hannah Doody (Tully, N.Y./Tully) led with 17 assists while McHale had 23 digs. Senior Jessica Volz (Dewitt, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) had three aces and 13 digs.
Keuka will next play its final games of the season as they host St. John Fisher College and Buffalo State this Saturday, Oct. 31. Game times are 11 am and 1 pm.
