Junior Alyssa Hermenet scored the game-winner for Keuka.
The Keuka women’s soccer team dominated the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College by out-shooting them 46-0. The Storm would only be able to net one goal as they won by a score of 1-0.
The win, Keuka’s third straight, improves the Storm to 7-7 overall and 7-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Cazenovia drops to 3-13-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the conference.
The Storm out-shot Cazenovia 22-0 in the opening half and 24-0 in the second half. The Storm’s lone goal would come off the foot of junior Alyssa Hermenet (Williamson, N.Y./Williamson) in the 43rd minute (42:20). After a shot by a Keuka player was blocked by a Cazenovia defender, Herement booted in the rebound for her seventh goal of the season. The goal is also her fourth game-winning goal of the season and ninth of her career, a Keuka record.
Junior Ashley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) picked up the shutout, her fourth of the season. Cazenovia’s Brittany Westcott had 18 saves in goal.
Keuka will next play its final regular season game this Saturday, Oct. 31 at Penn State-Abington beginning at 1 pm.
