The No. 3 seeded Storm easily took care of the No. 6 Express of Wells College in the first round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament played at Keuka on Tuesday.

Keuka improves to 9-7 overall and will now square off against the #2 Wildcats of SUNYIT at Penn State-Harrisburg in the semifinals this Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 pm.  The Storm defeated the Wildcats 1-0 during the regular season.  Wells ends the season with a 5-11-1 record.

Keuka ripped 21 shots in the opening half and 18 more in the second half while out-shooting Wells 39-1 for the game.  Keuka punched in three goals in each half.

Senior midfielder Jessica VanScoter (Canisteo, N.Y./Canisteo-Greenwood) got Keuka on the board in the 7th minute (6:08) with her third goal of the season.  After a foul by Wells, VanScoter drilled a free kick over the head of Wells’ goalie.

Junior forward Courtney McLaughlin (Warsaw, N.Y./Letchworth) then took over and scored the games next three  goals.  Her first two came in the opening half in the 13th (12:42) and 20th (19:37) minutes.  They were assisted by junior midfielder Deanna Nortier (Marion, N.Y./Marion) and freshman forward Nicole Sharick (Corfu, N.Y./Pembroke).

McLaughlin completed the hat trick in the 64th minute (63:29) on an unassited goal.  Her three goals give her a team-high 14 on the season.  Rookie midfielder Terin Brown (Wayland, N.Y./Wayland-Cohocton) scored her sixth goal of the year in the 82nd minute (81:05).  Two minutes later (83:54), Sharick netted her 10th goal of the season off a pass from VanScoter.

Junior goalie Ashley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) recorded her sixth shutout of the season while Britteney Laurenceau had 10 saves for Wells.
