Volleyball Falls in Five to SUNYIT

The Keuka volleyball team saw its 2009 season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to the No. 3 seeded Wildcats of SUNYIT in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament held at Penn State-Berks on Sunday.

Keuka, finishes the season with a 14-19 overall record while SUNYIT improves to 19-12. 

The Storm dropped the first set (20-25) before rebounding to take the next two (25-21 & 25-18).  Keuka then lost a close fourth set (22-25) before falling 6-15 in the fifth and final set.

Keuka sported a .176 attack percentage while finishing with 39 kills.  Senior Holly McHale (Carthage, N.Y./Jefferson CC) led the way with 10 kills and 14 digs.  Junior Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) added nine kills and seven digs while classmate Heather Fish (Newfield, N.Y./Newfield) had eight kills.

Junior Katy Geers (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) dished off 18 assists while sophomore Hannah Doody (Tully, N.Y./Tully) had 14 assists and seven digs.
