Storm’s Season Ends With Loss to Williams

The Keuka College women’s soccer team had its 2009 season come to an end with a NCAA Tournament first round loss to the Ephs of Williams College by a score of 5-0. The game was played at Williams.
The Ephs, who are currently ranked second in the latest NSCAA rankings, improve to 18-0 and remain one of only two teams in the nation with no losses or ties. Keuka ends its season with a 10-9 overall record.
The Ephs dominated the game as they out-shot the Storm 43-1 and had 15 corner kicks to Keuka’s one.
Williams broke the game open when it scored its first two goals in just a 37 second span in the 16th minute. Keuka would hold Williams scoreless the rest of the half.
In the second half, Williams scored goals in the 55th (54:18), 62nd (61:32), and 82nd (81:53) minutes. Keuka’s Jessica VanScoter (Canisteo, N.Y./Canisteo-Greenwood) kicked the Storm’s lone shot in the second half.
Junior keeperAshley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) recorded 13 saves in goal while Williams goalie had zero saves in the shutout.
