Men’s Hoops Defeats Abington 68-65

The Keuka College men’s basketball team won for the third time in its last four games as they knocked off the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Abington 68-65 on the road Sunday.
Keuka improves to 3-3 overall while the Nittany Lions slip to 1-5 on the season.
Both squads shot well from the floor all game, especially in the opening half with the Storm hitting 13-of-24 shots (54%) and the Nittany Lions connecting on 13-of-28 shots (46%). Keuka held a one-point lead (35-34) at intermission. The Storm never led by more than eight points in the second half but they also only trailed once and that was at the beginning of the second half (19:32).
For the game, Keuka shot 51% (24-for-47) while Abington shot 43% (26-for-60). Abington won the battle of the boards (30-to-27) while both teams dished off 11 assists.
Junior Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) scored 17 points to go along with his nine rebounds. Fellow junior Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Acad.) added 10 points and nine rebounds while senior Alex Coleman (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) added 12 points. Rookie Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) scored 10 points while passing off a team-high four assists and collecting three steals.
Abington was led by Travis Troiano and his 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Keuka will next play at SUNY Morrisville this Wednesday, Dec. 9 beginning at 8 pm.
