Schrock’s Late Three Wins it for Storm

Junior Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) continued her assault from behind the 3-point arc as her last second three secured a 68-65 win over Penn State-Berks on the road Saturday.  Schrock, the school’s new all-time leader in 3-pointers with 81, netted three long balls while pouring in a game-high 21 points to help even the Storm’s record at 2-2 on the year.  The Nittany Lions fall 1-4 overall.

With the two teams knotted at 65, Schrock nailed a step-back three with about 1:30 remaining to secure the victory.

Keuka held a 3-point halftime lead (38-35) after shooting 47% (15-for-32) from the floor.  Both teams netted 30 points in the second half.  Keuka shot 35% (23-for-65) for the game while the Nittany Lions shot 34% (22-for-65) from the floor.  Berks pulled down three more rebounds (49-46) while Keuka passed off five more assists (13-8).

Schrock scored her 21 points while going 9-for-17 from the floor, while also passing off a game-high five assists.  Rookie Mariah Mouzon (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Elmira Free Acad.) posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as junior Nadia Mdmoune (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Acad.) just missed a double-double with 10 points and eight boards.  Junior Nicki Zahn (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) added 12 points while canning a pair of three’s.

Berks was led Courtney Bailey’s 19 points and 15 rebounds while Steph Binder also registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Keuka will next play host to SUNY Morrisville this Wednesday, Dec. 9 with a 6 pm tip-off.
