Logins 24 Points Not Enough As Storm Drop Wendy’s Finale

Junior Calvin Logins had a game-high 24 points.
The men’s basketball team fell to the No. 8 seeded Blue Knights of SUNY Geneseo at St. John Fisher College in its Wendy’s College Classic Tournament finale by a score of 85-67 on Saturday. The Game will be Keuka’s last ever in the tournament.
Keuka falls to 4-7 on the year while Geneseo improves to 3-9 overall.
Keuka held a small lead from the 16:11 mark to the 12:59 mark in the first half but that was the Storm’s only lead of the game as Geneseo cruised to a 12-point (40-28) halftime lead. Geneseo remained hot from the floor in the second half as they put up 45 points and netted 14 field goals for the second straight half. Geneseo finished the game shooting 51% (28-for-55) while the Storm went 26-for-67 (39%). Keuka managed 12 more shot attempts then Geneseo, but the Blue Knights dominated the boards (46-30) to limit Keuka’s second chances.
Junior Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) enjoyed a big game with a game-high 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He added five boards, two assists, two steals, and a block.
Rookie Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) and senior Alex Coleman (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) each finished with 10 points a piece while junior Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Academy) added seven points and seven rebounds.
Geneseo had six players in double figures led by Brandon Simpson who posted the game’s lone double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Keuka will next play at Cazenovia College this Wednesday, Jan. 20 beginning at 8 pm.
