Logins and Thurston Cap Solid Week with Athlete of the Week Honors

Keuka basketball players Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) and Melissa Thurston (Batavia, N.Y./Batavia) both enjoyed good weeks in the Wendy’s College Classic and were rewarded by by being named Keuka College athletes of the week.
Logins averaged 15.7 points and seven rebounds a game while shooting 50% (20-for-40) from the floor in the three games, while being selected to the Wendy’s College Classic All-Tournament second team. The junior guard had seven points and six boards in Keuka’s 69-45 loss to No. 2 St. John Fisher College. He followed that up with a 16-point, 10-rebound performance in the Storm’s 72-65 loss to No. 3 Nazareth College. Logins ended the tournament with a 24-point, 5-rebound night in an 85-67 loss to No. 8 SUNY Geneseo.
Thurston was solid in most statistical categories, averaging 6.3 points, six rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.7 steals a game. She joined Logins on the All-Tournament second team. Thurston also set a new Keuka College record for steals in a career with 228, breaking the mark set back in 1991. The senior guards best game was an 11-point, seven-rebound, six-steal performance in the Storm’s 77-60 loss to No. 6 R.I.T.
