Storm Ride Fantastic Play of Four Players to Big Win Over Caz

The men’s basketball team ended a three-game skid by beating the Wildcats of Cazenovia College by a score of 81-70 at Cazenovia on Wednesday.

Keuka, 5-7, currently ranks 5th in the NEAC standings while Cazenovia 0-16 remains in 11th place.

The Storm shot an impressive 40% (18-for-44) from the field in the first half, and an even better 48% (14-for-29) the second half.  Caz shot 34% (10-for-29) the first half and 44% (16-for-36) the second half.  The Storm dominated the boards out-rebounding the Wildcats 59-35.  Keuka outscored Caz 41-27 the 1st half, while being outscored by Caz in the 2nd half 43-40.

Keuka was led by three players who had double-doubles.  Junior Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) had team highs 23 points and 15 rebounds.  He went 9-for-17 from the floor.  Junior Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Frederick Douglas Acad.) had 12 points 10 rebounds.

Senior Alex Coleman (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) had 11 points and 12 rebounds while adding a team high five assists.  Senior Pete Durr (Barneveld, N.Y./Utica Notre Dame) also had 20 points.

Cazenovia was led by Darnell Sampson who had a game high 24 points.

Keuka will next play home, this Saturday Jan 23. against the Wells College Express beginning at 1 pm.
