Men’s Hoops Derailed by Express at Home

The Keuka College men’s basketball team fell to the visiting Express of Wells College by a score of 83-66 at home on Saturday.
The Storm, who split with Wells last season, fall to 5-8 on the year while the Express improve to 11-5.
Wells used a full court press to interrupt Keuka’s offense and caused 26 Storm turnovers while collecting 18 steals. The Storm shot well enough to be down only 42-36 at the half, but were outscored 41-30 in the second half. For the game, Keuka shot 42% (24-for-57) while Wells shot 48% (29-for-61). Keuka finished with three more rebounds (36-33) and one more 3-pointer (7-6).
Junior center Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Academy) led four Keuka players in double figures with 17 points. He went 6-of-10 from the floor while adding eight rebounds. Classmate Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) added a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
Rookie Ryan Klimek (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) enjoyed a nice game off the bench with 13 points while hitting 3-of-6 shots from behind the arc. Fellow freshman Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) added 10 points and three assists.
Wells had five players in double figures led by Greg Jones with 21 points. Juan Paulino added 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
Keuka will next play at SUNY Morrisville this Wednesday, Jan. 27 beginning at 8 pm.
