The Keuka College women’s basketball team won a close game against the visiting Eagles of the College of St. Elizabeth by a score of 63-55 at home on Sunday.

The Storm win its second straight game against a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe and improve to 7-5 overall.  The Eagles slip to 9-7 on the season.

Both teams managed 11 first half field goals while the Storm held a 3-point (28-25) advantage at intermission.  Keuka again outscored the Eagles, 35-30, in the second half and used a big advantage in free throws (13-6) to stay ahead of St. Elizabeth.  Keuka shot 46% (22-for-48) from the floor while St. Elizabeth shot 39% (21-for-54).  Keuka held an 8-rebound advantage (35-27).

Keuka’s leading scorer, Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison), enjoyed a big game with a game-high 21 points on 5-of-11 shooting.  She connected on four 3-pointers and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line.  Schrock also led Keuka with five assists and three steals.

Rookie Mariah Mouzon (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Elmira Free Academy) added 15 points and eight rebounds while junior Jessica Fink (New Oxford, Pa/New Oxford) had eight points.  Junior Nadia Madmoune (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) had a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Eagles were led by Maesoon Deeb’s 21 points and nine rebounds.  Sabrina Jarmolinski added 14 points.

Keuka will next play at SUNY Morrisville this Wednesday, Jan. 27 beginning at 6 pm.
