Santana and Crapp Lead Storm Past Phoenix

Rookie Latasha Santana led keuka with six assists and four steals while adding 12 points.
The Keuka women’s basketbal team used scoring from 11 different players en route to a 68-33 win over the visiting Phoenix of Wilson College on Saturday.
Keuka wins its fourth straight game and improve to 9-5 overall. Wilson slips to 2-15 on the season.
The Storm ran away with the game from the beginning as they out-scored Wilson 36-12 in the opening half. Keuka shot an impressive 48% (15-for-31) from the floor while Wilson went just 5-for-24 (21%) from the floor.
The second half saw Keuka out-score Wilson 32-21 as the Storm went 14-for-26 (54%) from the floor. Wilson went 8-for-10 from the free throw line in the second half. For the game, Keuka shot 51% (29-for-57) while Wilson went 11-for-43 (26%). The Storm collected 21 steals, causing 28 Phoenix turnovers. Keuka also had 21 assists to just six for Wilson.
Rookie Latasha Santana (Rochester, N.Y./East) had 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting while posting a game-high six assists and a team-high four steals. Senior Joycelynn Crapp (Sylvester, GA/Worth County) led Keuka with 14 points while going 7-for-8 from the floor.
Senior Melissa Thurston (Batavia, N.Y./Batavia) added eight points and three steals while junior Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) added six points and four assists.
Tara Fields led Wilson with a game-high 15 points and six steals.
Keuka will next play at home tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 31 at 1 pm against the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Harrisburg.
