Junior Basketball Stars Named Athletes of the Week

Junior basketball players Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Academy) and Nadia Madmoune (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) were selected as Keuka College Athletes of the Week for their performances on the court during the week ending Feb. 6.

Booker, a second team All-NEAC selection last season, led the team in scoring, rebounding, blocks, free throws, and field goals.  The 6-7 center averaged 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds while blocking five shots and shooting 67% (16-for-24) from the floor.  He posted 11 points and nine rebounds against Penn State-Harrisburg and then had 16 points and nine rebounds against Wells College.  He ended the week with a 17-point, eight-rebound performance against SUNY Cobleskill.  Booker is currently averaging 11.8 points and 8.9 rebounds a game.

Madmoune, a third team All-NEAC pick a season ago, averaged 10.7 points and 11.7 rebounds a game while helping the Storm to a 2-1 week.  The forward also led the team with nine assists and a field goal percentage of .50 (15-for-30), while adding six steals.  Madmoune posted a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds against Penn State-Harrisburg and then had five points and a team-high 12 boards against the College of St. Elizabeth.  She ended the week with another double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds against SUNY Cobleskill.  Madmoune is currently averaging 8.3 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.
