Schrock Nets 28 in Big Win Over Caz

The Keuka women’s basketball team used a huge first half to dominate the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College to a tune of 92-58 on Wednesday.

Keuka snaps a two-game skid and now sits at 12-7 overall while Cazenovia slips to 9-11 on the year.

The Storm came out on a fire as they put up 55 first half points while shooting 57% (20-for-35) from the floor.  Keuka hit eight first half 3-pointers (8-for-14) while dishing off an astounding 17 assists.  Cazenovia managed just 27 points on 10-of-29 shooting (35%).

The Storm outscored Cazenovia 37-31 in the second half while hitting five more 3-pointers.  For the game Keuka shot 34-for-68 (50%) from the floor and 13-for-25 (52%) from behind the arc.  Cazenovia finished at 36% (22-for-62).  Keuka had 44 rebounds to Cazenovia’s 38 while dishing out 28 assists and collecting 19 steals.

Junior Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison)  had a huge game ending with 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting. The sharpshooter hit seven 3-pointers while also dishing out six assists and collecting eight steals. 

Junior Heather Fish (Newfield, N.Y./Newfield) added a double-double off the bench with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Classmate Nadia Madmoune (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) added 15 points, five assists, and six rebounds.  Senior Melissa Thurston (Batavia, N.Y./Batavia) chipped in with nine points and seven assists.

Cazenovia was led by Colleen Clarke who netted 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Keuka will next play host to Penn State-Abington this Saturday, Feb. 13 beginning at 1 pm.
