Storm Take Care of Ball; Secure Win vs. Nittany Lions

The Keuka men’s basketball team used excellent ball control to hold off the visiting Nittany Lions of Penn State-Abington in a 68-59 win at home on Saturday.
Keuka snaps a five-game losing streak with the win and now sit at 7-13 overall. Abington falls to 5-16 on the season.
The two teams played a low-scoring first half as Keuka held a one-point (24-23) halftime lead. Keuka attempted 18 3-pointers in the first half while making just four. The two teams picked up its offensive intensity in the second half as keuka shot 54% (13-for-24) while making six 3-pointers to out-score Abington 44-36.
For the game, Keuka shot 38% (21-for-56) while Abington shot 39% (21-for-54). The two teams combined for 19 3-pointers, 10 by Keuka, while each grabbing 37 rebounds. Keuka committed just six turnovers all game while forcing 15.
Junior Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) led the Storm with another double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Rob Crowley (Attica, N.Y./Attica) hit four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points.
Senior Alex Coleman (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) added 14 points and a game-high five assists. Junior Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Acad.) grabbed 12 rebounds to go with his six points and four assists while rookie Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) added seven points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Fellow freshman Ryan Klimek (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) hit three 3-pointers for nine points.
Abington was led by William Alton’s 16 points. Joshua Howard and Francis Hennessey each hit four 3-pointers a piece to finish with 12 points, respectively.
Keuka will next play host to Penn State-Berks this Sunday, Feb. 14 beginning at 3 pm.
