Shooting Woes Doom Storm

The Keuka men’s basketball team struggled from the field as they lost a close game to the visiting Nittany Lions of Penn State-Berks by a score of 58-52 on Sunday.
Keuka loses for the sixth time in its last seven games while sporting an overall record of 7-14. Berks wins for just the sixth time all year as they improve to 6-15.
The Nittany Lions came out on fire in the first half as they shot 18-for-29 (62%) while making 10 more field goals then the Storm. Keuka struggled from the floor, going just 8-for-34 (24%) including just 1-for-13 from behind the arc. Berks held a 41-23 halftime lead.
Penn State-Berks cooled off in the second half making just six shots (22%) but the Storm were unable to heat up from the floor as they shot only 28% while making two of 15 3-point attempts.
For the game, the Storm attempted 18 more shots (74-56), but shot just 26% while Berks shot 43%. Keuka went just 3-for-28 from behind the arc and 11-for-21 from the free throw line. The Nittany Lions finished with 49 rebounds while the Storm grabbed 48. Keuka coughed up the ball only five times.
Junior Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) had another big game as he netted 20 points while also grabbing 16 rebounds. Classmate Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Acad.) added a double-double of his own with 12 points and 14 rebounds to go with his four blocks.
Senior Alex Coleman (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) added eight points and four steals.
The Nittany Lions were led by Kemian Flowers who had 11 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks.
Keuka will next play host to SUNY Cobleskill this Wednesday, Feb. 17 beginning at 8 pm.
