Storm Take Care of Phoenix in Regular Season Finale

The Keuka women’s basketball team enjoyed an easy 72-51 win over the Phoenix of Wilson College on the road Sunday in its final regular season game of the season.
Keuka ends the regular season with a 17-7 overall record while Wilson ends at 2-21.
The Storm jumped out to a 39-22 halftime lead after hitting 15 first-half field goals to just nine for Wilson. Keuka poured in 33 second half points while allowing Wilson to score 29. For the game, Keuka shot 42% (30-for-71) while Wilson shot 21-for-58 (36%). The Phoenix grabbed 11 more rebounds (48-37) but had 27 turnovers to the Storm’s eight.
Junior Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) led all Keuka scorers with 20 points while going 7-of-12 from the floor and 3-for-5 from behind the arc. Rookie Latasha Santana (Rochester, N.Y./East) added 10 points and a team-high three assists and six steals.
Junior Morgan Engelbert (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) added 10 points while going 5-for-5 from the floor. Freshman Mariah Mouzon (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Elmira Free Acad.) added nine points and seven rebounds.
Tara Fields led Wilson with 24 points while Alaina Hofer added 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Keuka will next play the winner of the the #8 Penn State-Harrisburg vs. #9 Penn State-Abington play-in game this Friday, Feb. 26 at 8 pm at Penn State-Berks.
