Storm Advance in NEAC Tourney with Win Over Caz

Junior Calvin Logins had his 10th double-double of the season at halftime in the Storm's win.
The No. 7 ranked Keuka College men’s basketball team knocked off the No. 10 seeded Wildcats of Cazenovia College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament play-in game by a score of 83-70. The game was played at Keuka’s Weed Physical Arts Center.
With the win, the Storm improve to 9-15 on the year and set up a quarterfinal match-up against the No. 2 seeded Express of Wells College this Friday, Feb. 26 at Penn State-Harrisburg. Tip-off is 6 pm. Cazenovia ends its season with a 2-23 overall record.
The Storm used a strong first-half to put away the Wildcats. Keuka netted 53 points while hitting five 3-pointers and 18 free throws to hold an 11-point lead (53-42) at the break. The two teams shot exactly the same in the second half (12-for-32), as Keuka out-scored Cazenovia 30-28. In a game with a combined 46 fouls, Keuka netted 24 free throws to Cazenovia’s 12. The Storm shot 39% (27-for-69) from the floor while the Wildcats were 27-for-62 (44%). The Storm had eight more rebounds (49-41) and four less turnovers (17-21).
Junior Calvin Logins (Newark, N.Y./Lyons) paced the Storm’s offense with his tenth double-double of the season. Logins had a doubled-double before halftime and finished with 16 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. He went 8-for-11 from the free throw line and collected a game-high three steals.
Fellow junior Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Acad.) netted a game-high 21 points while adding seven rebounds as he went 7-for-10 from the floor and 7-for-9 from the charity stripe. Senior Alex Coleman (Elmira, N.Y./Southside) added 16 points and five rebounds while classmate Rob Crowley (Attica, N.Y./Attica) scored 10 points.
Cazenovia was led by Darnell Sampson’s 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists while Cameron Smith added 19 points.
