Junior Calvin Logins, senior Alex Coleman, and freshman Ryan Klimek will try to give the Storm its first NEAC title since 2002.

The Keuka College men’s basketball team will begin its quest for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament championship by hosting the No. 10 seeded Wildcats of Cazenovia College this Tuesday, Feb. 23 beginning at 7 pm.

The Storm, who spilt with the Wildcats during the regular season, would face-off against the No. 2 Express of Wells College on Friday, Feb. 26 at 6 pm at Penn State-Harrisburg with a win on Tuesday night.

Freshman Latasha Santana had 10 points and six steals in the win.

The Keuka women’s basketball team enjoyed an easy 72-51 win over the Phoenix of Wilson College on the road Sunday in its final regular season game of the season.

Keuka ends the regular season with a 17-7 overall record while Wilson ends at 2-21.

The Storm jumped out to a 39-22 halftime lead after hitting 15 first-half field goals to just nine for Wilson.  Keuka poured in 33 second half points while allowing Wilson to score 29.  For the game, Keuka shot 42% (30-for-71) while Wilson shot 21-for-58 (36%).  The Phoenix grabbed 11 more rebounds (48-37) but had 27 turnovers to the Storm’s eight.

Junior Brittany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) led all Keuka scorers with 20 points while going 7-of-12 from the floor and 3-for-5 from behind the arc.  Rookie Latasha Santana (Rochester, N.Y./East) added 10 points and a team-high three assists and six steals. Read more

Freshman Mariah Mouzon tallied another double-double in the win.

The Keuka women’s basketball team won its fifth straight game as they knocked off the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Harrisburg for the second time this season by a score of 62-47 on Saturday.  The game was played at Harrisburg.

The five-game winning streak is the Storm’s third streak this season of at least five games as they improve to 16-7 on the year.  Harrisburg falls to 9-15 overall.

Keuka was consistent throughout the game, scoring 31 points in each half and limiting Harrisburg to 23 and 24 points, respectively.  The Storm held a 31-23 halftime lead and the limited the Nittany Lions to just 23% shooting in the second half.  For the game, Keuka shot 40% (23-for-57) while Harrisburg went 16-for-64 (25%).  The Storm grabbed one more rebound (44-43) while dishing out five more assists (14-9). Despite playing without two of its starters, the Keuka men’s basketball team still put up a season-high 90 points in a 106-90 loss on the road to the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday.

The loss drops Keuka, who have now split its last four games, to 8-15 overall.  Penn State-Harrisburg improves to 15-9 on the year.

Despite putting up a solid 43 points in the opening half, Keuka could not stop the Nittany Lions from scoring as they netted 60 points while making 24 first-half field goals.  Keuka’s defense picked up a little in the second half as they held Harrisburg to just 11 field goals while out-scoring them 47-46.  But the damage was already done in the opening half.  Read more

Senior Peter Durr's lay-up won the game for Keuka.

Playing in his final home game of his career, senior Peter Durr (Barneveld, N.Y./Utica Notre Dame) hit the game-winning lay-up with just one second remaining in the game to give the Storm a 51-48 win over the visiting Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill.

Keuka, who avenged an earlier season loss to the Fighting Tigers, improves to 8-14 overall while Cobleskill falls to 8-15 on the season.

With Keuka holding a 3-point advantage (48-45), Cobleskill’s Damon Franklin drained a 3-pointer with just eight seconds remaining to tie the game. After a Keuka timeout, the Storm passed the ball into center, Diamond Booker (Bronx, N.Y./Fredrick Douglas Acad.) who handed the ball off to Durr. The 6-1 shooting guard then hit the game-winning lay-up while getting fouled to complete a 3-point play. Junior Jessica Fink led all scorers with 16 points.

In a battle of the top two teams in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), it was the Keuka women’s basketball team that punished the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill by a score of 56-40 at Keuka on Wednesday.

Keuka improves to 15-7 overall with the win while Cobleskill, who was held to a season-low 40 points, slips to 15-7 on the year.

Both teams struggled from the floor as they combined for just 15 first half field goals while Cobleskill held a two-point (21-19) halftime lead.

The Storm’s defense completely shut down the Fighting Tigers offense in the second half as they held them to just 19 points and only 23% (6-for-26) shooting.  Keuka caught fire from behind the arc, hitting 6-of-12 from long range to put up 37 second half points.  For the game, Keuka shot 31% (18-for-58) while Cobleskill went 14-for-53 (26%).  The Storm held a 7-rebound advantage (46-39).
