March 31, 2010

Tom Flood coached the Storm to a 9-16 record in 2009-10.
Tom Flood, head men’s basketball coach at Keuka College, will retire at the end of the 2009-10 academic year.
Flood, former athletic director and boy’s basketball coach at Honeoye Falls-Lima (HF-L) Central School, served as assistant men’s basketball coach for three seasons before being named head basketball and golf coach in 2007. He will continue to serve as golf coach.
“Tom Flood is one of the most successful basketball coaches in our area and he had a positive impact on our men’s basketball program for six years,” said David Sweet, athletic director and women’s basketball coach. “We are delighted that he will continue to coach the golf team.”
“I want to thank Keuka College for giving me the opportunity to coach basketball at the college level,” said Flood, who compiled a 27-43 record as head coach. “I look forward to my continued association with Keuka College as golf coach.”
Flood directed the boy’s basketball program at HF-L from 1977-2002. He was named Section V Coach of the Year five times and guided the Cougars to a sectional title in 1997. He served as athletic director at HF-L from 1985-2002, and coached baseball and soccer from 1977-1987.
Flood taught physical education and health at Wayne Elementary School (1970-71), Marcus Whitman High School and Middle School (1971-73), and HF-L High School and Middle School (1974-85). He also served as principal and vice principal at HF-L during his tenure in the district.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education from Findley (Ohio) University in 1970 and a Master in Education, Administration from St. Bonaventure University in 1978.
The search for Flood’s replacement is under way, according to Sweet.
