The Keuka College men’s lacrosse team suffered its fifth straight loss as they fell on the road to the Golden Eagles of SUNY Brockport by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday.

The Storm fall to 1-5 overall while Brockport improves to 6-1 on the season.

The Golden Eagles defense kept Keuka scoreless for the first two periods as they tallied five goals to hold a 5-0 lead at the break.  Keuka answered with two goals in the third period while keeping Brockport scoreless.  The Golden Eagles tallied two of its own in the fourth period to close out the scoring.

Brockport out-shot Keuka 38-27 while also picking up 48 ground balls to the Storm’s 24.  Keuka won the battle of face-offs (7-6) but struggled clearing the ball (20-for-33).

Both teams goalies played a huge factor in the low scoring game.  Keuka’s Ethan Kamholtz (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) started off with nine saves in the first half while allowing five goals.  Junior Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) then recorded 13 saves in the second half, allowing just two goals.  Brockport’s Kyle Crosley had 16 saves while picking up the win for the Golden Eagles.

Scoring the Storm’s two goals were junior Jaime Conway (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) and sophomore Gino Marcello (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili).

Keuka will next play at Wells College this Saturday, April 3 beginning at 2 pm.
