Men’s Lax Fall to No. 13 St. John Fisher

The Keuka College men’s lacrosse team suffered its sixth loss in its last seven games as they fell on the road to the No. 13 nationally ranked Cardinals of St. John Fisher College by a score of 14-4 Tuesday.
Keuka slips to 2-6 overall while Fisher wins its tenth straight game and improve to 10-0 on the season.
After a 6-3 first period, the Cardinals out-scored Keuka 8-0 in the second and third periods to take control of the game. The Storm scored the lone goal of the fourth period.
Fisher won all but two of the face-offs (19-for-21) while taking 47 shots to Keuka’s 18. The Cardinals also held a huge advantage in ground balls (48-16).
Leading the Storm on offense was rookie attacker Chris Redington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) who netted a goal while passing off two assists. Sophomore Gino Marcello (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) added two goals while junior Jaime Conway (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) had a goal and an assist. Rookie Ethan Kamholtz (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) who started the game in goal, dished off one assist.
Kamholtz finished with six saves in the first period while allowing six goals. Junior Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) played the second and third periods, allowing eight goals and stopping five shots. Junior Jon Curry (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) played the final period tallying five saves while not allowing a goal.
Keuka will next play at Penn State-Abington this Sunday, April 11 beginning at 3 pm.
