Golf Wins Wells Invite in First Spring Action

Senior Kyle Phelan shot a season-low 82.

The Ke Kyle Phelan uka College golf team won the Wells College Invitational on Sunday while shooting a 349.  Cazenovia took second with a 383 while Wells placed third with a 395.

Rookie Tyler Hoosier (Saratoga, N.Y./Saratoga) was the day’s medalist while shooting a five-over par 77.  His 77 was two strokes better then any round he had this fall.

Senior Kyle Phelan (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) also shot a season-best with his 82.  Classmate Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, N.Y./Trumansburg) shot a 92 while junior Darron Hall (Owego, N.Y./Owego) posted a score of 97.  Junior Jack Reece (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) was Keuka’s fifth man with a score of 103.

The Storm will next host its Keuka College Invitational this Thursday, April 15 beginning at 11 am.
