Men’s Lax Rebounds Against Wildcats

The Keuka College men’s lacrosse team rebounded from a tough loss to Medaille College by defeating the Wildcats of Cazenovia College by a score of 14-3 at home on Saturday.

The Storm improve to 4-7 overall and 3-2 in the conference while Cazenovia slips to 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the NEAC.

Keuka led 7-1 at halftime and out-scored Cazenovia 7-2 in the second half.  Cazenovia actually out-shot Keuka 43-36 but managed only three goals on its 43 shots.  Junior goalie Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) was a big reason for that as he finished with 22 saves.  The Storm picked up 26 ground balls to just 19 for the Wildcats.  Keuka won the face-off battle (11-9).

Rookie Mark Butto (Rochester, N.Y./ Schroeder) had a big game with four goals and an assist while classmate Chris Redington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) added three goals and two assists. 

Junior David Miller (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) added two goals to go along with his seven ground balls and nine won face-offs.  Juniors Jaime Conway (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) and Stephen Ferguson (Sracuse, N.Y./Westhill) each had a goal and an assist.

The Storm will next play at SUNY Oswego this Wednesday, April 21 beginning at 4 pm.
