Men’s Lax Lose To Oswego

The Keuka men’s lacrosse team lost 16-4 on the road to the Lakers of SUNY Oswego on Wednesday. The Storm are now 4-8 overall while Oswego improves to 5-8.
Keuka stayed with the Lakers through the first period, trailing 4-2, but Oswego had a huge second period (7-0) to grab an 11-2 lead at the break. Oswego won the third period 3-0 to go up 14-2 before the two teams each tallied two goals in the fourth.
Oswego out-shot Keuka 48-17 while winning 17-of-23 face-offs. Oswego had 30 ground balls while the Storm picked up 17.
Keuka goalie junior Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) stopped 10 shots while allowing 11 goals in the first half while classmate Jon Curry (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) had six saves while allowing five goals in the final 30 minutes.
Freshman Chris Redington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) led the offense with two goals while classmate Mike Crumlish (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) and junior Stephen Ferguson (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) each had one goal a piece.
Rookies Mark Butto (Rochester, N.Y./Schroeder) and Anthony Jones (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran) each had an assist.
Keuka will next play its final regular season game of the season this Saturday, April 24 against the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill on the road beginning at 2 pm.
