The Keuka men’s lacrosse team won a very important conference game against the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill by a score of 10-7 on the road Saturday.  The Storm improve to 5-8 overall and 4-2 in the NEAC while Cobleskill slips to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

The Storm held a 4-3 lead at the break but scored the game’s first six goals of the second half to go up 10-3.  Cobleskill answered with four straight goals in the fourth period but it was too late.  The Storm had 36 shots while allowing 30.  Cobleskill had 57 ground balls to Keuka’s 25 while the Fighting Tigers won 12 of the 21 face-offs.

Junior goalie Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill)collected 11 saves in goal while allowing the seven goals.  Cobleskill stopped 10 shots in goal.

Rookies Chris Redington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) and Mark Butto (Rochester, N.Y./Schroeder) each had two goals as did junior Peter Hart (Webster, N.Y./Thomas).  Sophomore Gino Marcello (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) and junior David Miller (East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) each had a goal and an assist while freshman Anthony Jones (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran) had two assists.

Keuka will next play in the NEAC Tournament beginning April 30.
