Softball Swept by Nazareth

Junior Denise Bilbow stole two more bases in the second game.
The Keuka softball team concluded its 2010 regular season with a pair of losses to the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College on Sunday. Nazareth took game one 3-0 and won the second game 5-4.
The Storm now stand at 23-8 overall while Nazareth improves to 17-21.
In game one, Keuka managed just four hits while striking out 15 times. Junior Cherie Smith (Canastota, N.Y./Mohawk Valley CC) suffered the loss despite holding the Golden Flyers scoreless through the game’s first four innings. Nazareth finally scored once in the fifth and added two runs in the sixth.
Rookie Brittany Smyder (Avon, N.Y./Avon) batted 2-for-3 while recording half of her team’s hits.
In the second game, Keuka held a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the seventh but the Golden Flyers rallied for four runs to steal the win. Rookie Allison Richter (Hume, N.Y./Fillmore) had four strikeouts while allowing just eight hits.
Junior Denise Bilbow (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases while sophomore Sara James (Wayland, N.Y./Wayland-Cohocton) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Keuka will next await its seeding and placement for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
