Men’s Harriers Take 10th at SUNYIT

Senior Chris Mazella finished in 57th place to lead Keuka.
The Keuka College men’s cross country team placed 10th out of 12 teams at the SUNYIT Invitational this Saturday. The 6K race was the Storm’s first of the season as they ended with 325 points. \
SUNY Canton won the race with a team score of 64 while host SUNYIT (71) and HVCC (72) were just behind. Broome (84) and Hobart (133) rounded out the top five.
Keuka was led by senior Chris Mazella (Depew, N.Y./Depew) who finished in 57th place out of 91 runners. Mazella’s time of 25:00 was 49 seconds better then his time last season.
Senior Cody Clement (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) took 65th overall in his first-ever collegiate race. Clement finished in a time of 25:32. Sophomore Justin Hess (Clyde, N.Y./Clyde-Savannah) was third for Keuka in 77th place (27:00).
Senior Josh Uline (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) and sophomore Joseph Reiss (Rochester, N.Y./Charlotte) placed 88th (30:10) and 89th (30:12) place, respectively.
Keuka will next run in the SUNY Oswego Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 11 beginning at noon.
