The Keuka women’s soccer team lost to the visiting Golden Eagles of SUNY Brockport by a score of 5-0 in its season-opener on Wednesday.  Brockport improves to 3-1 on the season.

Brockport started the scoring early as they scored just 1:44 into the game.  The Golden Eagles added two more goals in the next 14 minutes before the Storm’s defense settled down.  Brockport finished with 16 first half shots to the Storm’s one while holding a 3-0 lead at the break.

Keuka was able to get seven shots off in the second half but none would find the back of the net.  Brockport added two more goals in the 75th minute and a PK in the 82nd minute.  Brockport finished with 31 shots for the game while Keuka collected eight.

Senior Ashley Vail (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) finished with nine saves in goal while Brockport’s Erin Asquith picked up the shutout while stopping two shots.

Keuka will look for its first win this Friday, Sept. 10 as they host Penn State-Abington beginning at 5 pm.
