Senior Chelsea Socha placed 2nd at the NEAC Championships.
Senior Chelsea Socha (Himrod, N.Y./Dundee) ran a strong second to lead Keuka College to a third place finish at the NEAC cross country championships Saturday at Penn State-Berks.
Socha, who won the NEAC meet a year ago, ran the 5K course in 19:34, finishing 24 seconds behind Brittany Hinton of St. Elizabeth. SUNY Cobleskill captured the team title while Cazenovia finished second. Read more

The Keuka College harriers closed out their 2010 season with a ninth place finish at the NEAC championships Saturday at Penn State-Berks.
Cobleskill’s Connor Cashin won the individual title, recording a 27:55 clocking over the 8K course, but the team title went to SUNYIT, whose runners captured the next four spots on the leaderboard. Cobleskill finished second while SUNY Morrisville was third. Read more
Men’s Soccer Can’t Hold Halftime Lead in 3-2 Loss to SUNYIT

The Keuka College men’s soccer team held a 1-0 advantage at the half but ended up falling 3-2 to the Wildcats of SUNYIT on the road in its final regular season game of the season on Saturday.
The Storm fall to 9-4-2 overall and 5-2-2 in the NEAC while SUNYIT improves to 12-5 overall and 8-1 in the conference, winning the regular season crown.
Sophomore John Mastrella (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena)gave the Storm a quick lead as he netted a goal off a rebound in just the sixth minute (5:41) of action. That would be all of the scoring in the opening half as SUNYIT out-shot Keuka 6-5. Read more
Women’s Soccer Falls 7-1 to SUNYIT in Regular Season Finale

Playing its final regular season game of the 2010 season, the Keuka women’s soccer team was defeated by a 7-1 score on the road against SUNYIT on Saturday.
The Storm now stand at 8-5-2 overall and 8-2-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). SUNYIT improves to 11-0 in the conference and 15-3 overall while winning the regular season championship.
Keuka got on the board first as sophomore Nicole Sharick (Corfu, N.Y./Pembroke) netted a goal in the 12th minute (11:27) off a pass from classmate Sarah Capek (Elmira, N.Y./Horseheads). The Wildcats tied the game in the 18th (17:29) minute and then took over after that. SUNYIT added two more goals in the first half to enter the second half with a 3-1 advantage. Read more
Volleyball Thumps Morrisville; Falls to Buffalo State

The Keuka Volleyball team concluded its 2010 regular season with a split at its own Halloween Invitational on Saturday. The Storm started off by defeating the Mustangs of SUNY Morrisville by a score of 3-0. The Bengals of Buffalo State then defeated Morrisville by the same score in the middle match. Buffalo State knocked off Keuka by a score of 3-1 in the final match of the day.
Keuka now stands at 18-9 overall while Buffalo State improves to 15-18 and Morrisville slips to 7-23.
Against Morrisville, the Storm finished with 13 service aces and a .330 attack percentage while winning 25-12, 25-22, and 25-21. Senior Raelle Naegely (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) led with 11 kills and seven aces while rookie Paige Golden (Kent, N.Y./Albion) had a team-high 11 digs and added three aces.
