NEAC CHAMPIONS!
February 27, 2011

President Burke with NEAC Tournament MVP Brittany Schrock.
The Keuka College women’s basketball team finally solved the Bisons of Gallaudet University and they picked a good time to do so as the Storm won 50-46 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament Championship game on Sunday at Gallaudet.
The Storm used a 14-0 run to end the game and will now take part in its third ever NCAA Tournament with the bracket being released Monday, Feb. 28 at 12:30 p.m. The Storm had lost both of its previous meetings with the Bisons during the regular season as the two teams tied for a share of the conference regular season title, The Storm improve to 24-2 overall while Gallaudet falls to 24-3 on the year.
Keuka jumped out to an early lead after an opening three-point shot by NEAC Tournament MVP Britany Schrock (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison). That lead would be short lived, however, as Gallaudet took the lead with 17:38 remaining in the opening half and never relinquished it until the endof the game as they held a 26-22 halftime lead. Both teams made nine first half field goals but the Storm managed just 1-of-7 from behind the arc as the Bisons drained three long balls. Read more
