Keuka’s advantage never dipped below 10 points the rest of the half, and Keuka led by as many as 17 points as Mouzon scored 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting in the half.
Gravel, whose previous career-high was 25 points during a win over Hilbert College on Nov. 22, finished shooting 10-for-14 from the floor (71 percent) and went 6-for-8 on three-pointers.

Mouzon, Paige Named Athletes of the Week
January 23, 2012
Junior Mariah Mouzon (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) compiled back-to-back games with double-digit point and rebound totals for Keuka College’s women’s basketball team while freshman Coty Paige (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) set a career-high in scoring during Keuka’s loss to Wells College in men’s basketball. Mouzon and Paige have been named Keuka College’s Female and Male Athletes of the Week.
Mouzon, a forward, scored 15 points and snared 11 rebounds during Wednesday’s 68-51 road win over Wells for her first double-double of the season. She made 7 of 8 free throws in the win over Wells, and followed that up with 14 points and 11 rebounds during Saturday’s 78-57 home loss to the College of St. Elizabeth.
Against St. Elizabeth, the Storm (8-4, 6-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 14-10 before Mouzon made a layup and a free throw as part of an 8-0 Keuka run. Mouzon finished with 11 first-half points, but the Storm still trailed 44-35 at halftime. For the season, Mouzon is averaging 8.1 points and six rebounds per game.
Paige scored a career-best 23 points to go with eight rebounds during Wednesday’s 65-60 loss at Wells College. Keuka rallied from a five-point deficit and led by seven halfway through the second half, but Wells College used a 12-2 run to knock off the Storm (4-10, 4-3 NEAC).
Paige shot 9-for-17 from the floor against the Express, but Keuka shot just 24-for-64 (38 percent) as a team.
After senior Brian Cunliffe (Rochester, NY/Gates Chili) sunk a pair of free throws, Wells led 59-58 with 33 seconds. Following two Wells’ free throws, Paige hit a layup with 20 seconds left to trim the deficit to 61-60, but Wells made its final four free throws and held off the Storm to hand Keuka its second consecutive loss in the NEAC following a four-game winning streak.
Keuka trailed 41-36 early in the second half before going on an 11-2 run to take a 47-43 lead. Junior Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, NY/Gates Chili) and Paige combined for eight of the points during the spurt.
For the season, Paige leads the Storm in scoring (14.6 ppg.), rebounding (6.3 rpg.), steals (1.5 spg.) and field-goal percentage (47.3%)

Women’s Hoops Falls to St. Elizabeth
January 21, 2012

Junior Mariah Mouzon scored 14 points with 11 rebounds, but Keuka College's women's basketball team fell to the College of St. Elizabeth 78-57 Saturday afternoon.
Junior Mariah Mouzon (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) posted her second straight double-double and sophomore Jessica Bandrowski (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) added 12 points but Keuka College’s women’s basketball team suffered a 78-57 home loss to the College of St. Elizabeth Saturday afternoon inside the Weed Physical Arts Center.
The Storm (8-4, 6-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 14-10 eight minutes in before going on an 8-0 run as Bandrowki made a ‘3’, Mouzon made a layup and a free throw and freshman Brittany Hadley (Jasper, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) added a layup during the run.
St. Elizabeth (8-5, 5-3 NEAC) then went on a 15-6 spurt to take a 29-24 lead before a trey from freshman Amanda Kubitz (Spencerport, NY/E.J. Wilson) pulled the Storm within 29-27 with 4:27 to play in the half.
But despite Bandrowski drilling a 30-foot three-pointer as the half expired for Keuka, the Screaming Eagles closed on a 14-8 run to take a 44-35 halftime lead. Mouzon scored 11 points during the half.
Sabrina Jarmolinski, the NEAC’s leading scorer entering the contest (20.2 ppg.), scored 10 of St. Elizabeth’s first 12 points and finished with 29 points on 11-for-18 shooting. She added 11 rebounds and Jade Wilson chipped in with 19 points and six rebounds for the Screaming Eagles.
Keuka hung around in the second half and when Bandrowski buried her fourth ‘3’ of the game, the Storm trailed only 49-45 with 14:29 to play, but a 12-2 St. Elizabeth run gave the Screaming Eagles a 61-47 lead, and the lead never dropped below 10 points the remainder of the game.
Bandrowski added 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks while Kubitz scored a career-high eight points in the loss.
Keuka shot 22-for-66 from the field (33 percent) while St. Elizabeth went 26-for-54 (48.1 percent), including connecting on 12 of 26 three-point attempts (46.2 percent).
It was Keuka’s first loss to St. Elizabeth after winning four straight games in the rivalry.
The Storm returns to action with an 8 p.m. home game Wednesday night against NEAC rival Cazenovia College. This will be the first of two games against the Wildcats, with Keuka traveling to Cazenovia for an 8 p.m. game on Feb. 8.

Women’s Hoops Hosting St. Elizabeth
January 20, 2012

Sophomore Taylor Szwec and Keuka's women's basketball team host the College of St. Elizabeth at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon inside the Weed Physical Arts Center.
The Keuka College women’s basketball team got back in the win column with a convincing 68-51 road win over Wells College on Wednesday, and the Storm return to action with a 1 p.m. home game Saturday afternoon against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival the College of St. Elizabeth.
Keuka (8-3, 6-1 NEAC) currently sits in second place in the NEAC North division, half a game behind SUNYIT (12-2, 6-0 NEAC). St. Elizabeth (7-5, 4-3 NEAC) sits in third place in the NEAC South division, with the top three teams in each division advancing into the NEAC postseason tournament.
Keuka has won the last four games against St. Elizabeth, picking up a 76-57 win at home and a 57-52 road win during the 2010-11 season.
After splitting a pair of NEAC road games last weekend, Keuka picked up its sixth NEAC win in seven tries on Wednesday against the Wells College Express. Sophomore guard Jessica Bandrowski (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) scored five points during an opening 9-0 run, but Wells went on a 16-0 run to take a 19-13 lead. Keuka answered with a 6-0 run to tie the game and the Storm led 32-28 at halftime.
A 26-16 spurt early in the second half sparked the Storm, which got 15 points and 11 rebounds from junior forward Mariah Mouzon (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) and 20 points and seven boards from Bandrowski. It was Mouzon’s first double-double of the season, and 13th of her career.
Against Wells, Mouzon shot a season-best 7-for-8 from the free-throw line while Bandrowski posted her eighth game scoring in double-figures, and her third game scoring 20-plus points. Bandrowski came three points shy of her season-high of 23 points, set during a season-opening 79-39 win over SUNY Canton on Nov. 15.
Over her last seven games, sophomore Taylor Szwec (Candor, NY/Candor) has scored 64 points with 49 rebounds, an average of 9.1 points and 7 rebounds per contest for the Storm, which is 4-1 at home and 4-2 on the road this year. Getting off to a fast start is a big reason behind the Storm’s success, and Keuka is outscoring its opponents by nine points per game (63.5-54.5) while limiting opponents to just a 32.5 field goal percentage (216-for-665).
Sabrina Jarmolinski leads both St. Elizabeth and the NEAC in scoring average (20.2 ppg.) and is one of three Screaming Eagles averaging in double-figures, along with Cheyenne Grant (12.6 ppg.) and Jade Wilson (12.5 ppg.).
