Men’s Golf Sixth at Season-Opening Invite

Senior Tyler Hoosier and the Keuka College men's golf team placed sixth during the season-opening Keuka College Fall Invite.

Senior Tyler Hoosier (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) fired a 10-over par 82 to place 13th during Thursday’s season-opening Keuka College Fall Golf Invitational, held at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, N.Y.
Hoosier shot a 43 on the front, then bounced back with a three-over par 39 on the back nine, tying for the third-lowest round on the back nine with six pars and three bogeys.
Led by Hoosier’s round, Keuka recorded a team score of 375 to place sixth out of seven teams. SUNY Oswego captured the one-day Invite with a team score of 310, followed by Elmira College (319), Hobart College (326), SUNY ESF (331), Wells College (364), Keuka and Houghton (378).
Elmira’s Alex Todd and Oswego’s Nick Sterling each shot a four-over par 76 to share the championship.
After Hoosier, junior Zach Terpolilli (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) had the second best finish for the Storm with an 88. Senior Damien Haseley (Lockport, NY/Lockport) shot a 102 while junior Dale Rifenbark (Mount Upton, NY/Unatego) recorded a 103 to round out the top four Keuka golfers.
The Storm returns to action at 11 a.m. Monday with the SUNY Oswego Invitational.
