Junior Stephanie Havens (Unadilla, NY/Unatego) scored a goal for the third consecutive game, but it wasn’t enough as the Keuka College women’s soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision at Penn State-Harrisburg Saturday afternoon in Middletown, Pa.

Harrisburg (3-3, 2-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference) scored twice during a seven-minute stretch midway through the first half, and used four second-half goals to remain undefeated in the NEAC.

Trailing 2-0 heading into the second half, Havens pulled the Storm (2-4, 2-2 NEAC) within 2-1 on a strike in the 48th minute. But Harrisburg answered 6:40 later on Lyndsay Naughton’s header goal to take a 3-1 edge, then tacked on three goals over a span of 11:05 to clinch the win.

Five different players scored goals for the Nittany Lions, who outshot the Storm 23-11, including 10-3 in the first half, and had three corner kicks to none for Keuka.

Sophomore Marriah Gough (Oneida, NY/Stockbridge Valley) made the start for Keuka, allowing four goals with eight saves in 72:55. Freshman Maggie Tower (Waterville, NY/home schooled) played the final 17:05 and allowed two goals while making three saves for the Green and Gold.

Keuka returns to action at 12 p.m. Sunday with a NEAC contest against Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
