The Keuka College men’s basketball team is hosting a camp for children in grades 5 through 9 from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7 at the gymnasium in the Weed Physical Arts Center.

Led by third-year head men’s basketball coach Thad Phillips, the camp is designed to improve the campers’ offensive skills and their ability to flourish in game settings while also emphasizing teamwork.

The camp will feature offensive skill-building sessions, both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games and a camp-wide dinner.

Among the individual skills that will be emphasized: ball-handling, shooting and passing, as well as setting and utilizing screens and understanding the importance of spacing on the court. Phillips and his staff will teach campers using the same drills that Phillips uses with his men’s basketball team.

The cost of this day-long camp is $50, and includes a dinner on campus. Parents of interested participants should contact Phillips by phone (315) 279-5691 or through email (tphillip@keuka.edu).
