Ben Guiliano, the head volleyball coach for Keuka College’s men’s and women’s teams, will be inducted into the Genesee Community College Athletics Hall of Fame during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday at GCC. Guiliano will be enshrined as part of the college’s annual Homecoming weekend.

Guiliano, a Branchport resident, is in his second season as the head women’s volleyball coach at Keuka after posting a 20-10 overall record and earning the No. 5 seed in the North Eastern Athletic Conference’s (NEAC) postseason tournament during the 2011 season.

During his nine-year coaching stint with Genesee Community College, Guiliano led several nationally-ranked teams and won three conference championships and one regional championship. Additionally, he started the men’s volleyball program and also coached softball at GCC.

He has directed NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA teams to 13 conference and four regional titles. His overall volleyball coaching record entering the 2012 season is 566-406.

Keuka, which won the second-most games in a season in school history during Guiliano’s first season, defeated No. 4 Lancaster Bible College in the first round of NEAC’s before falling in four sets vs. top-seeded Penn State-Berks.

Before his arrival in Keuka Park, Guiliano served as both the men’s and women’s volleyball coaches at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C.

Guiliano, a native of Spencerport, N.Y., coached at Pfeiffer since 2005. He has also served as head volleyball coach at Creighton University, St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Genesee Community College in Batavia.

Guiliano’s career has also included stints as director of the Royce Reynolds Family Student Life Center and supervisor of athletic operations, intramural director and head softball coach at Greensboro (N.C.) College

Guiliano holds a Master of Science degree in physical education from SUNY Brockport and a Bachelor of Arts in communications media from SUNY Geneseo.
