Keuka College's men's golf team finished 12th during Tuesday's annual Elmira College Fall Invitational.
The Keuka College men’s golf team placed 12th during Tuesday’s annual Elmira College Fall Invitational, held in Elmira, N.Y.
Junior Zach Terpolilli (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) was Keuka’s medalist, shooting an 18-over par round of 90 to tie for 32nd place out of 64 competitors.
As a team, Keuka had a score of 420 among its top four golfers. SUNY Delhi’s “B” team was the overall champion with a score of 325, followed by SUNY Delhi’s “A” team (331), host Elmira College (334), SUNY Oswego (340), SUNY Canton (353), SUNY Potsdam (354), Keystone College (355), SUNY Cobleskill (358), Elmira’s “B” team (363), Baptist Bible College (372), Houghton College (406) and the Storm.
Senior Tyler Hoosier (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) was Keuka’s second-best finisher with a score of 103, followed by classmate Libert Caloia (Baldwinsville, NY/Baker), junior Dale Rifenbark (Mt. Upton, NY/Unatego) and sophomore Cory Marone (Marion, NY/Marion).
Baptist Bible’s Luke Peterson won a three-way playoff to capture the individual championship after a round of 79, seven over par.
After Hoosier, junior Zach Terpolilli (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) had the second best finish for the Storm with an 88. Senior Damien Haseley (Lockport, NY/Lockport) shot a 102 while junior Dale Rifenbark (Mount Upton, NY/Unatego) recorded a 103 to round out the top four Keuka golfers.
The Storm program goes on hiatus until the spring season, when Keuka hosts the Keuka College Spring Invitational, April 18, 2013 at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, N.Y.
