Freshman Preston Vick (Kendall, NY/Kendall) picked up his third shutout of the year during Friday night’s 2-0 home win over Lancaster Bible College. On Monday, Vick’s stellar play earned him the North Eastern Athletic Conference’s (NEAC) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors.

Vick recorded a season-high eight saves to earn the win for the Storm (6-2, 4-2 NEAC). With Keuka ahead 2-0, Vick made several big second-half saves to earn his third shutout in six NEAC contests.

In the 74th minute, Bradley Wilcox fired a shot to the near post that Vick saved, and 10 minutes later, Kevin Forsyth launched a shot from in close that Vick again stopped to maintain the shutout.

On the season, Vick has made 40 saves and allowed only 10 goals in 728 minutes in net for a 1.24 goals-against average. He leads the NEAC in shutouts and has stopped 80 percent of shots he’s faced.

The Storm returns to action with a 6:30 p.m. home game Tuesday night against NEAC rival Cazenovia College, the second of six straight home games for the Green and Gold.
