Sophomore Marriah Gough (Oneida, NY/Stockbridge Valley) did not allow a goal during two North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) clashes as the Keuka College women’s soccer team picked up a pair of shutout wins.

On Monday, Gough was honored by the NEAC as its Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Gough made six saves during Tuesday night’s 4-0 home win over Cazenovia College as the Storm snapped the Wildcats’ seven-game winning streak.

Facing SUNY Cobleskill Saturday morning, Gough did not allow a goal in 32 minutes in net, then re-entered the game as a midfielder and scored the first goal of her collegiate career during a 7-0 win over the Fighting Tigers.

The scoring output tied Keuka’s highest-scoring game since a 7-0 home win over Wilson College on Oct. 17, 2010 and was the most goals in a game by the Storm since a 9-0 throttling of Penn State-Abington on Oct. 31, 2009.

The Green and Gold didn’t allow a Cobleskill shot until midway through the second half, and Keuka enjoyed a 40-2 edge in shots, including 28-0 in the first half.

Gough is now 5-4 with two shutouts, 55 saves and a .775 saves percentage for Keuka (5-5, 5-3 NEAC).
