Men’s Basketball Falls at Gettysburg

Senior Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, NY/Gates Chili) scored a game-high 16 points with 4 steals and 2 rebounds, but the Keuka College men’s basketball team suffered a 60-39 setback at Gettysburg (Pa.) College Friday night in the Gettysburg Tip-Off Tournament.
Tuggles scored eight points in both halves while freshman Casey Williams (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) added 9 points, a team-most 5 rebounds and 2 blocks for the Storm (0-1).
Gettysburg (1-0) connected on 23 of 52 shots from the floor (44.2 percent) while holding the Green and Gold to 11 of 42 shooting (26.2 percent).
Tuggles connected on 4 of 8 shots from three-pointers while Williams made 4 of his 5 shots during his collegiate debut.
Sophomore Tyler Hixson (Shortsville, NY/Red Jacket) made a layup and Tuggles drained a ‘3’ as the Storm pulled even at five, but the Bullets went on a 20-7 run to take a 25-12 lead en route to a 29-14 halftime advantage.
Sophomore Adam Starks (Wellsville, NY/Andover) added 4 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals for Keuka.
Joe Emerusabe led Gettysburg with 13 points while Sean Gordon added nine points and six rebounds for the Bullets.
The Green and Gold, coming off a 5-18 record in 2011-12, plays Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon before returning home to play RIT (8 p.m. on Nov. 20) and Hilbert College (8 p.m., Nov. 26).
