Boyer’s Double-Double Not Enough vs. Hartwick

Senior Conor Boyer (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) posted his first career double-double, but the Keuka College mens basketball team suffered a 73-40 non-conference loss at Hartwick College Friday night.
Boyer scored 12 points with a career-high 13 rebounds, including a game-high eight offensive rebounds, and sophomore Adam Starks (Wellsville, NY/Andover) added a career-high 11 points in the loss for the Storm (0-5).
Starks’ previous career-high in scoring was 10, set during a 73-62 loss to Kenyon College on Nov. 17, 2012, while Boyer’s previous career bests for rebounds was 12 vs. Cazenovia College (Feb. 8, 2011) and scoring was 12 vs. SUNYIT (Feb. 2, 2011).
Sophomore Tyler Hixson (Shortsville, NY/Red Jacket) added five rebounds for Keuka, which was held to 26.8 percent shooting from the field (15-for-56).
Hartwick (4-2) shot 46.6 percent (27-for-58). Jared Suderley scored 19 points while Kyle Bradley added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks.
The Green return home to open North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. Morrisville State, the reigning NEAC postseason champions, comes to campus for an 8 p.m. game Wednesday night, Dec. 5.
