Baseball Falls to Franklin & Marshall
The Keuka College baseball team continued its spring training trip with a road game against Franklin & Marshall College, and the Storm suffered a 13-0 defeat to the Diplomats Sunday afternoon.
Senior Mike Hutchings (Auburn, NY/Auburn) and freshman Dylan Campbell (Bethesda, MD/Walter Johnson) were the only members of the Storm (1-2) to muster hits against the Diplomats (11-7). Both players recorded singles, but Keuka was outhit 12-2.
Franklin & Marshall scored six first-inning runs and enjoyed leads of 7-0 after four innings and 9-0 after six.
Sophomore Josh Mead (Hilton, NY/Hilton) pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in the loss, allowing three hits with two strikeouts in relief of senior starter Kyle McGrath (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder), who took the loss after surrendering the six first-inning runs.
The Storm plays Swarthmore (Pa.) College at 3:30 p.m. Monday as part of its spring training trip.
