Reece Sends Men’s Soccer to Semifinals with Overtime Goal
Senior Jack Reece scored the game-winner in overtime.
The Keuka men’s soccer team overcame a late deficit to force overtime where senior Jack Reece (Rochester, N.Y./Chruchville-Chili) scored the game-winning goal making the Storm a 2-1 winner over the visiting Mustangs of SUNY Morrisville in a first round match-up of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament.
Keuka, the No. 4 seed, improves to 10-4-2 on the season while Morrisville, the No. 5 seed, ends its season with an 8-8-1 mark. The two teams played an overtime game exactly a week ago, with Keuka also winning that one by a score of 1-0.
Tied one to one in overtime, Reece was able to put in a rebounded pass from sophomore John Mastrella (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) just 3:06 into the extra period. It was the Storm’s first shot attempt of overtime.
