Men’s Tennis Fall 6-3 to Defenders

Senior Mike Fischer won his first doubles match of the season.
The Keuka College men’s tennis team lost to the visiting Defenders of Baptist Bible College by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday. The loss drops the Storm to 1-6 on the year while the Defenders improve to 7-5 overall.
Keuka lost two of the three doubles matches, winning the top flight. Sophomore Brain Oberg (Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) and senior Mike Fischer (Kattskill Bay, N.Y./Lake George) won 9-7.
In singles, the Storm dropped four of the six, winning the fifth and sixth flights. Freshman Kyle Rivera (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) took the fifth flight (1-6, 6-2, 10-5) while senior Ryan Ellingworth (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) won the sixth flight (6-3, 7-5).
Keuka will next play in the NEAC Tournament where they take on No. 1 SUNY Oneonta this Saturday, April 24 at the Birchwood Tennis Club in Clarks Summit, Pa at 9 am.
